| My belief is that it is not necessary to know how to build a watch in order to be able to use one to see what time it is. I would rather teach a beginner how to make use of a computer and the Internet and get over the fear and frustration of not knowing what to do when something unexpected happens.

| You can learn to use the resources available on the Internet to your advantage. In my experience, most senior citizens and adults over a certain age did not learn computers in school. Most job related computer experience is industry specific using only one software program. You can learn how to use the computer as an appliance or tool to make life easier. Email, shop, do your banking, make plane reservations, check out info on medical matters or vacation spots and on and on and on.
